Firm Foundations
In the year 1996, a man named Peter Liegl realized that he had a vision for better RVs and could make it a reality. He brought assets from the RV manufacturing company he worked at at the time, Cobra Industries, and used them to create his own brand: Forest River. The newcomer to the RV scene started small with tent campers, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and park models, but soon expanded into motorhomes and even pontoon boats!
They acquired a few other RV companies as time went on, and in 2005 Forest River was itself acquired by Berkshire Hathaway, one of the largest holding companies on Earth.
Today
The goal of Forest River was always to fill a gap in the RV industry by providing nothing but high quality campers for families of all shapes and sizes. Today, the company succeeds in fulfilling that founding promise by utilizing premier building materials and skilled craftspeople in every stage of RV construction. Forest River Owners Group
Also called FROG, this is an optional additional benefit to owning a Forest River® RV. The organization was started in 2011 to help build a customer base into a true community, built for Forest River RV owners by Forest River RV owners. Every year sees a FROG rally where members gather to enjoy entertainment, share stories, take factory tours, and more. Recent years have complicated this tradition, but FROG is determined to maintain its community and has found ways to work around these struggles.
